Hi Rex,
You haven't signed on with your Clerk PIN number. The machine must have an operator logged on at all times during use. See your manager if you don't know the sign on PIN number. If it has been lost, another can be programmed. There are operation and programming manuals here:

Hi Phil and Eagle Falls,
I have looked deeper into EE-99 and it looks like it is a loss of program error. Your internal rechargeable battery may have gone flat if left turned off too long. It will need to be re-programmed. We have the NX-5400 programming manuals here

Hi Daryl,
The printer either is not turning due to something stuck in it or it is not able to sense rotation. If you are not familiar with electro mechanics, take it to a dealer to have the printer tested. Otherwise, check all sensors and motor windings, connections to printer etc.

CID usually refers to cash in drawer. Someone may have declared the wrong cash amount when running a report. Make sure your cash amount is equal to the cash sales you put through the machine. If you want to change the programming for cash in drawer, see the programming manual https://the-checkout-tech.com/manuals/cashregisters/Uniwell_NX-5400_type_01_programming_manual.html

Go back to REG mode and make sure you have finished any sales. This error is normally caused by an unfinished transaction.

Hi Maureen,
The battery is usually internal. you would need to dismantle the register and measure it with a multimeter. If the battery is replaced, the whole machine will need reprogramming. Unless you are familiar with electronics, its best to have a dealer look at it.

It is trying to print to your kitchen printer and is unable to print. Check the connection to your kitchen printer. If you don't have a kitchen printer connected, you may have a programming error or you are printing the X report incorrectly

i rang off the z report for end of day, the paper jammed and is unreadable . when i tried to print it again the paper was all zeros. is there a way to bring the daily report back up so i can reprint .

No, it resets after printing. However, it should print on both left and right (receipt and journal) paper rolls, so you will have two copies of it. Just use the other copy

It sounds like you have pressed the cooking message button. It hasn't locked you out. You are now expected to enter that message. To exit the message, press enter button.
