Hi,
Just wondering if this model cash reg can be changed into a 15 dept key instead of the 11 key it is right now? It currently has 6 large keys and 5 smaller keys. We use 15 departments and any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi. Yes it can. You buy a key top kit from your local Sharp dealer which has different sized keys to fit to the keyboard. Sometimes you have to open the extra departments in programming, but that is not hard. If you get a key top kit, I can help you to set it up.

Okay. Install the kit as shown in the diagrams. The kit will usually have many sizes, so just install the singles if you want the full amount of departments. Then turn to REG mode and see if you can use them. If they don't work, let me know.

That should mean they need to have a department code.

This may work in program mode so you can try that. If not, you will need a service key which is not too difficult.

Turn the key to PGM

Type 9950
Press the decimal point
@/for
1
enter a department number on the number pad
Press one of your new departments
CASH

If the department still doesn't work during a sale, then you need another code, just tell me

I have all the keys in place and working. Each key has been assigned with tax codes and the tax codes have been set. During a sale the tax will not add on to the total? Is there something I missed?

You might have set them as hash (non add) departments accidentally.
The best idea is to print the settings for all departments, then program them the same as the working ones.
Do a department program read and compare the settings.
Let me know if you have trouble.
