Someone has turned the menu sheet holder over to side 2. You are now using the menu on side 2 (PLUs 109 to 216) which has probably not been programmed. Turn it over to side 1 again and try it. If it is on side 1 but the -2- still shows, you have a fault with the switches at the side of the menu sheet holder that sense the position of the holder or the holder is cracked (most common).

I hate this cash register....
For some reason, machine turn off again..
I restart and send File 16 to cash register but it seems machine is not store any data...

I believe its something about memory allocate is full so when file 16 is transfer, it can not
overwritten memory... call tech to fix now...
Too complicate, he is not wanting to fix the problem on phone...
$160 gone....
:(

It sounds like you might have memory corruption. Make sure they check the battery

yes... Finally the tech arrived. He said memory cuoroution due to machine shut down.
He mentioned the battery might be flat too ( no change within 7 yrs).
He suggest me to replace battery...
He erased the scanning plu data then resend file 16 again then problem solve.
Its easy for him but not me....
So replacing the battery will prevent the cash register shut down?
I never unplug the power from power point...

It is difficult to say. Usually it will not happen if the machine stays on but once the battery is poor, it can happen. The battery should be replaced every 4 or 5 years. There is normally a warning sticker to remind you when to have it changed. I find this model becomes unstable eventually and needs a RAM clear. Make sure they fully RAM cleared the machine as it will have refreshed all of the files and the machine will work more smoothly in many cases. They are generally very reliable.
Another thing that can corrupt the scanning file is scanning the wrong barcode type. Never scan a large stock type barcode such as the ones on the side of the boxes. Some scanners will try to send this to the register and it can overflow the scanning file.

No. It is simply plugged into the main circuit board. Just make sure you have the power on and the display lit when you change it.
It must be a 3v lithium rechargeable type. This is the one that Casio uses -
