Dear colleagues,
This is my first topic here.
I am a owner of a electronic repair shop in Austria , and actually have a problem with a
Uniwell UX-70 cash register.
Regularly I don not repair cash ragisters, so I unfortunatelly do not have any experience in this field of electronic equipment.
remedy:
When you switch on the apparatus on the Disply one can read

"CRC-Error"
" E-99 "

Maybe a colleague has had a similar problem, and can tell me the cause.

Thanx in advance

...sorry for my bad english...

I haven't had this error but if it is a file CRC problem, then it may be due to a flat or faulty battery. If the customer has switched the machine off for some time (such as a month or more), the battery will have gone flat and lost the programming. It would require a RAM clear and re-programming using the programming tables. They are in this manual: http://the-checkout-tech.com/manuals/ca ... anual.html

Dear Admin,

Many Thanx for your answer.
Indeed the battery was faulty within this machine.
I' ve allready replaced them, but the fault didn't changed.
I will try to solve the problem by reprogramming it.

I'll report the success.

Ah, well, there you go. It must be RAM cleared if you change the battery since the memory will be corrupt.

Dear Admin, Dear friends of cash registers

So, in the mean time I could get a second cash register to copy the content of the RAM memory from one machine to the other via RS232 interface.
But after inspection of the second machine I could detect a defective memory as well.
So now I have two ragisters with the same fault.

CRC ERROR 99
E - 99
I tried the RAM initial reset, but without success.

Pls could you give me some advise about the steps to do.

Many Thanx in advance

Rados

Look up RAM test. You must perform this procedure from the manual using the layout shown in the diagrams.
