Post subject:  Javelin CS-700

Hi i have a javelin CS-700 i have brought the manuals for it and i cant seem to programme the cash register .i took it to a person who does programme them but he said that when he programmed it and then turned it off and then on again the programme wasn't there.so i contacted someone can't remember who but they told me to get them to check if it has batteries so i did and he said he changed the batteries and still not working... so my husband pulled it apart to see check the batteries ,it doen't take batteries .so im trying to programme it and having so much trouble,so i was wondering if anyone can help me please..my boss opens his busniess next week and im trying to do the till....

Hi Debrah,
This is exactly the symptom you get when the battery fails. The CS-700 has an internal rechargeable battery that may have failed. It should be tested and replaced before programming. The machine will use the battery to support the memory when the power is turned off. Sometimes the charge circuit can be the cause and the battery will just discharge, but never re-charge again, but this is rare. I would still guess that the battery has not been replaced, or not correctly. It is usually soldered to the main circuit board and should be replaced by a professional and then the RAM clear procedure should be carried out to prepare memory for programming.
